I have been trying for over 1 year to get my loan (1st mortgage - Chase Home Finance) and 2nd (First Horizon) modified. My daughter and son-in-law have been laid off, lost their home (Chase financed) and car. They and my 4 grandchildren are living with me. I am working at 2 jobs, but my salary is not sufficient to support this many people. My home is valued at approximately $100,000 less than what is owed on it. I have been advised to walk away, but I want to stay in my home and keep my good credit rating. I have been ignored by Chase and First Horizon as I have been keeping up my mortgage payments and have now exhausted my retirement funds. Any ideas?
